A lot of people ask me about how i became a runner..... and when i tell them the truth they are really surprised....I became a runner BY ACCIDENT! Several years ago, during a very frigid January - I was walking my dogs -- we were all frozen! I couldnt feel my hands or feet (I also have Raynaud's disease) and I was NOT happy - so i said FORGET this we are running home.... We all ran, and i realised that it made the awful weather tolerable
So.....the next day we mixed up running with walking - and it certainly helped... then being the Type A, competitve person I was i thought - hey I wonder whether I could really become a runner... I am SO competitive with MYSELF that each day I just did a little more a little further a little faster --- the dogs loved it too....
So now here I am a die-hard long distance runner BY ACCIDENT!! but totally addicted - I cannot imagine running NOT being a key part of my life..... It is my sanity check, my time - my passion..... I've logged thousands of miles since that first day - and plan on logging many many more!
